The Messenger has been slowing down for the past few days, and now appears to be completely still from our point of view: from now on, Mercury will gradually begin to travel in the opposite direction. Symbolically, retrogrades are an invitation to slow down, avoid moving forward in autopilot, and deepen our introspection. For this reason, navigating these moments with awareness accelerates our individuation process, allowing us to get closer to the truth of who we are, what we need, and what the present moment requires.

From a mundane perspective, Mercury retrograde is a time when the normal flow of communication, thinking, and information is disrupted. Hence, we tend to experience more misunderstandings, shifts in plans, technological glitches, and delays than usual. Nevertheless, anything that emerges during this time remains an opportunity to review, revise, and reconsider habitual ways of thinking and being, to have pending conversations, to complete unfinished projects from the past, and to gain a deeper understanding of the stories, beliefs, and assumptions through which we interpret reality.

In the Cardinal Water sign of Cancer, Mercury offers us an opportunity to observe how our emotional experiences impact how we think, communicate, process information, and perceive reality.
