On August 22, 07:37 AM —

On August 28, 2026, 12:14 AM EST, a Full Moon Partial Lunar Eclipse occurs at 4º51’ of Pisces. This is the final Eclipse in Pisces for this cycle, as the Lunar North Node recently entered Aquarius: we won’t have another Eclipse in the sign of the Fish until 2034.

There are different kinds of endings occurring and intertwining these days. The Lunar Eclipse in the last sign of the Zodiac Wheel marks the clear completion of a chapter of our journey, asking us to release what needs to end to make space for something new and orient toward the future we aspire to experience. This is an invitation to let something go so that we can let something new into our lives.

The Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Pisces is a particularly significant one for those of us born with planets or angles in Mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces). These people are experiencing the Eclipse more personally: they feel more pressure to let go of the old and make decisions that can significantly impact their path. They are more likely to experience meaningful endings, emotional breakthroughs, and profound shifts in perspective that prepare them to begin a new chapter of their lives.

Lunar Eclipses: Moments of Awareness, Closure, and Completion

Two weeks after the New Moon Total Solar Eclipse in Leo marked a moment of rebirth and brought a wave of renewal into our lives, a Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Pisces asks us to release what is outdated to make space for what is starting to emerge.

Astronomically, a Lunar Eclipse occurs when the Earth moves directly between the Sun and the Moon, casting its shadow over the Moon and temporarily obscuring its light. This alignment can only take place during a Full Moon, when the Sun and the Moon are in exact opposition, and they are both close to the Nodes of the Moon, the points marking the intersection of the Moon’s orbit and the Ecliptic. Lunar Eclipse can be total, partial, or penumbral: the current Lunar Eclipse in Pisces is a partial one, which tends to be more gentle than a total Eclipse.

Astrologically, Lunar Eclipses are considered to be intensified Full Moons. These events bring things to a head, illuminating what was previously unclear or unconscious and revealing something we are now ready to know and face. Lunar Eclipses accelerate processes that have been quietly unfolding underneath the surface, marking meaningful turning points in our lives and asking us to release what has come to completion.

Full Moon Partial Lunar Eclipse in Pisces: Let Go to Let In

The theme of completion is front and center these days: a Full Moon Partial Lunar Eclipse in the last sign of the Zodiac is a clear, powerful indicator that we are navigating the end of a cycle and bringing a chapter of our lives to a close.

Pisces represents the final stage of our evolutionary journey, in which the separate sense of self we formed during the previous eleven stages dissolves into the collective ocean. As we surrender and let go of our individual identity, we become one with everything that surrounds us.

A Lunar Eclipse in Pisces emphasizes the need to let go of the old and allow what is meant to end to come to completion so that a new chapter can begin and we can let something new into our lives. Here, the Moon illuminates the emotional, spiritual, and subtle dimensions of life, bringing to the surface something previously hidden, unconscious, or unresolved.

Emotions we have ignored, neglected, or swept under the rug may demand our attention these days: the Partial Lunar Eclipse in Pisces asks us to feel our feelings while letting go of our attachment to suffering, addictions, illusions that keep us stuck, and stories that keep us in a victim mindset.

Pisces Lunar Eclipse conjunct the North Node: Surrender to Move Forward

The Lunar Eclipse happens on the North Node of the Moon, now placed at 29º Aquarius. The North Node is the point of the Moon’s orbit highlighting the direction of Soul growth. It indicates an energy we are not familiar with and qualities we need to cultivate in order to balance the energy of the South Node, which symbolizes where we come from, what we already know, and unconscious tendencies we are prone to get stuck in.

In Aquarius, the North Node encourages us to develop objectivity and expand our perspective beyond our personal concerns and our desire to be seen, recognized, and validated. This transit asks us to recognize ourselves as an integral part of the collective and be aware of how our personal actions and choices affect the collective field.

The Aquarius North Node asks us to break free from old programming and conditioning and question the ways we are used to thinking, behaving, and seeking belonging. Here, the North Node reminds us that personal and collective evolution are inseparable.

With a Lunar Eclipse in Pisces activating the Aquarius North Node, we are being asked to surrender our attachment to what keeps us anchored in the past in order to move toward the future. Every new beginning requires a release: to move forward, we need to make space for the future and detach from what is no longer resonant with the reality we aspire to build and experience.

Full Moon square Uranus: Disruption as Liberation

Both the Sun in Virgo and the Moon in Pisces as well as Mercury in Virgo are forming a tight square to Uranus in Gemini, the planet ruling the Aquarius North Node. Uranus’s activation increases the unpredictability that surrounds this event, quickening the pace of change while reflecting a general feeling of restlessness and overstimulation of the nervous system.

This configuration can bring sudden revelations, unexpected changes of plans, and shifts in perspective that require us to remain flexible and open to the unknown. What has felt stable or predictable may suddenly change, asking us to develop adaptability and maybe let go of our attachment to things unfolding in a certain way.

With Uranus in Gemini squaring the Sun and the Moon, many people will feel drawn to rebel from what is expected of them and break free from the stories and narratives that have kept them stuck and limited. These days, we will be reminded that any disruption to our comfort zone serves the purpose of liberation: both Uranus and this Eclipse act as an awakening influence, catalyzing breakthroughs in awareness and asking us to release what has run its course to move toward a more authentic way of living.

Full Moon opposite Mercury: Harmonizing Mind and Heart

The Full Moon in Pisces also closely opposes Mercury, conjunct with the Sun in the early degrees of Virgo. The Moon-Mercury opposition invites us to pay attention to the dialogue between our brain and our heart, between our rational mind and our emotional body. We have an opportunity to notice the stories we tell ourselves about our emotional experiences and where we feel drawn to doubt our perception or ignore the information our emotions bring.

While Mercury and the Sun in Virgo seek clarity through analysis and thorough observation, the Moon in Pisces reminds us that not everything can be understood or learned through the intellect. This Eclipse invites us to honor both our analytical mind and our emotional and intuitive awareness, while becoming more discerning with the information we take in and expose ourselves to, as it will affect us more strongly than usual. Around this time, new insights may emerge through our dreams or via subtle signs, messages, and synchronicities only noticeable to a sensitive eye.

Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Pisces: Surrender as Gateway to Renewal

The surrender this Lunar Eclipse in Pisces asks of us is not an end in itself but a gateway to renewal. This event invites us to trust the process, allow the release to happen, let go of resistance to change, and become more receptive to the new beginnings that are already unfolding and gestating just beneath the surface of our conscious awareness.

While the Eclipse peaks, Pisces’ ruler, Neptune, is in the early degrees of Aries, reminding us that every ending creates space for a new vision to emerge. Neptune’s long-term harmonious sextiles to Uranus and Pluto reveal that what we are experiencing personally is an integral part of a larger, longer collective transition, a radical paradigm shift that has been unfolding for some time.

As old dreams, fantasies, and illusions dissolve, new possibilities begin to take shape, new worlds are slowly being born. This Eclipse invites us to trust that whatever is leaving our lives now is making space for something more aligned: as we shed layers and release the known, we become more receptive to the whispers of inspiration guiding us toward what’s coming next.
