On April 24, 11:11 AM —

On May 1, 2026, 1:22 PM EST, a powerful Full Moon in Scorpio brings deep emotions to the surface. This event offers us chances to gain new insights into patterns, attachments, and dynamics that are ready to be transformed and challenges us to alchemize the pain of our past into power and develop more emotional resilience.

May 2026 carries a rare lunar rhythm, with two Full Moons unfolding within the same calendar month. This Scorpio Full Moon begins a deeper process of transformation, opening a space for emotional truth, release, and inner alchemy. Later in the month, a second Full Moon, known as a Blue Moon, will rise, bringing further culmination and completion to what is initiated now. Together, these two lunations create an extended window of awareness and change, amplifying the intensity of this period and inviting us to move through it with presence and intention.

We are entering a month filled with dynamism and movement, on both the emotional and the mental level. As May begins, the Full Moon in Scorpio asks us to turn inward, release what we have outgrown, and confront something previously hidden. By the time the Blue Full Moon in Sagittarius peaks on May 31, we will be able to expand our perspective and access a broader understanding of the meaning of the the journey we have been through during May.

The Scorpio Full Moon is particularly significant for people with natal planets in Fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius). They are more likely to experience significant turning points, breakthroughs, and realizations around this time. These people have the opportunity to close a chapter of their lives for good and move forward in their transformation process by letting go of something that is keeping them stuck.

We invite you to watch our YouTube energy update with Nina as she guides us through the deeper energies of this Full Moon in Scorpio.

Full Moons: Opportunities to Integrate Opposites

Once a month, Full Moons bring to light what was hidden under the surface. As the Moon becomes fully illuminated by sunlight, we have the opportunity to see something previously unclear or unconscious with greater clarity.

The Sun and the Moon are forming an opposition, a 180º angle from our perspective on Earth. In Astrology, this is an aspect of both illumination and polarization, with great potential for resolution and integration of opposites, as well as a stronger temptation to project onto others something we don’t accept in ourselves. With oppositions, it is easy to take one side and deny the other, and our challenge these days is to remember that opposites are complementary, two sides of the same coin, and integrating both is necessary.

The Taurus-Scorpio polarity is in the spotlight this week: while Taurus teaches us to preserve what we have been creating, Scorpio challenges us to let it go with grace. This is the dance of creation and destruction, of life and death, of holding on and letting go. During a time of the year centered around building foundations and creating more stability in our lives, we are being challenged to acknowledge what needs to be destroyed to create space for further creation to occur.

Full Moon in Scorpio: Allowing Transformation to Occur

The Moon in Scorpio feels intensely and deeply. Under this lunation, avoidance becomes more difficult, and what we have been trying to sweep under the rug is likely to surface, asking for our immediate attention. Emotions are raw and visceral, and the invitation for us is to feel them without intellectualizing them.

The Taurus-Scorpio axis is about security, survival, and transformation, about both change and resistance to change. Money, sexuality, and values, as well as issues of ownership and energetic exchanges, are themes connected to Taurus and Scorpio that could require attention these days. This polarity invites us to reflect on our relationship with stability and control and on where we are being asked to let go, trust, and evolve.

During Taurus season, the Scorpio Full Moon highlights the places where we might have gotten too comfortable, and transformation needs to occur. This is a time when uncomfortable truths may emerge, and we have an opportunity to gain a new, deeper awareness of issues of trust, vulnerability, attachment, and power dynamics, and release something that has been suppressed or ignored.

Full Moon square Pluto

The Scorpio Full Moon is squaring her ruler Pluto in Aquarius. Named after the mythological Lord of the Underworld, Pluto in Astrology is the catalyst of our transformational processes, associated with the unconscious layer of the psyche, profound wounds and attachments, and our Soul’s evolutionary intentions for this lifetime.

Pluto’s activation challenges us to confront the deeper layers of our emotional patterns and find out the true motives behind our instinctual, automatic reactions. The square to Pluto brings to the surface needs, desires, and fears we are not consciously aware of, but unconsciously drive us. This aspect reveals what needs to be alchemized and transformed, and asks us to bring light to our shadows, to what we are ashamed of, to what we hide, and to the gifts and talents we haven’t owned and developed yet. It invites us to take responsibility for how we react and be curious about why we are especially triggered by certain events and not others.

These days, we have an opportunity to recognize where we may be trying to control or subtly manipulate outcomes, to avoid vulnerability, to hide how we truly feel, and choose instead to engage with change and discomfort more consciously. This configuration asks us to get in touch with our most intense desires, to the desires of us that scare us, and access deeply buried pain and transmute it, liberating the energy that we were using to suppress it.

Moreover, both Venus and Uranus are squaring the Nodes of the Moon. This configuration could unearth suppressed memories from our past and old traumas, particularly surrounding relationships, offering us opportunities to integrate parts of ourselves we dissociated from or that remained stuck in earlier stages of development.

Full Moon in Scorpio 2026

Full Moon quincunx Venus and Saturn, trine Jupiter and the North Node

The Scorpio Full Moon is the focal point of a boomerang Yod that includes Venus and Saturn, both quincunx the Moon, as well as the Sun in Taurus. Yods are configurations involving two planets sextile to each other and both quincunx a third planet. Quincunxes are aspects of paradox and contradiction, while sextiles support the productive integration of different functions. These are rare configurations, said to be fated, and often associated with turning points and meaningful changes.

The activation of Venus and Saturn suggests that issues of relationships, finances, boundaries, and commitment are front and center, and there is a need for emotional and relational adjustment. The Moon-Venus quincunx can highlight a disconnect between what we feel and how we give or receive love. These days, there may be tension between emotional needs and relationship needs, while patterns of overgiving and people-pleasing may reach a point of no return. We have an opportunity to recalibrate how we relate to others and express what we need and feel honestly.

Saturn’s quincunx to the Moon emphasizes tendencies toward emotional suppression and misplaced guilt, highlighting the need for appropriate boundaries and inviting us to make sure we are taking the responsibilities that are ours to take, without carrying what belongs to others. This aspect invites a more conscious relationship with duty and emotional labor and asks us to distinguish between genuine responsibility and patterns rooted in fear or obligation.

The Sun in Taurus is the point of resolution of this Yod. It invites us to come into deeper contact with our feelings, sensations, and needs, to develop a more profound connection with ourselves and our body, and relate to other people from that place. This placement is an invitation to slow down and connect with our center, return to our values, prioritize what nourishes us, and make choices that support our well-being.

Mars square Jupiter and conjunct Saturn

As the Scorpio Full Moon peaks, Mars, Scorpio’s ancient ruler, is approaching a square to Jupiter in Cancer and separating from a conjunction to Saturn. Mars is powerfully placed in his domicile of Aries, and as he separates from Saturn more vitality, energy, and momentum become available to us. For the past weeks, Mars has been conjunct both Neptune and Saturn, which slowed down the Martian impulse to act in the moment and follow instinct.

As Mars separates from Saturn, he approaches a square to Jupiter in Cancer, which brings feelings of restlessness and a stronger desire to take risks. This square can intensify our impulsivity and our urge to act quickly, sometimes without fully considering the emotional or practical consequences. At the same time, it boosts our confidence and motivation, which might have been lacking in the last few days. The Mars-Jupiter square encourages us to move forward with courage and channel our energy into purposeful action.

Full Moon in Scorpio: Alchemizing the Past

The Full Moon in Scorpio asks us to release our resistance to change and trust the process of transformation. As intense emotions rise to the surface, we have an opportunity to give them space, to feel them fully, without immediately reacting to them, suppressing them, intellectualizing them, or pretending they aren’t there. This is an invitation to stay present with what is emerging, observe the patterns in our lives with honesty and compassion, and allow our transformation process to unfold at its own pace.

This Full Moon is a time to release what we have outgrown and what is keeping us small: it is a time to gain awareness of how we relate to power, both ours and others’, and how we may feel tempted to give ours away. This is an opportunity to empower ourselves by facing what is uncomfortable and recognizing what keeps repeating and why. We are being asked to alchemize the pain of the past that binds us and develop more emotional resilience, becoming masters of our emotions instead of being enslaved by them.

This Full Moon in Scorpio opens a process of release and transformation, and your 2026 Horoscope offers deeper insight to support your journey through this year.
