On June 29, 2026, 8:56 PM EST, a Full Moon peaks at 08º14’ of Capricorn, while Mercury is stationary retrograde in the opposite sign of Cancer. A lot is going on in the heavens these days, and the current Full Moon is shining a light on where we are at in our reparenting and maturation journeys, asking us to refine the balance between nurturing our inner, emotional lives and taking care of our worldly responsibilities and commitments.
The Capricorn Full Moon is a particularly significant one for people with natal planets or angles in the early degrees of Cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn), who are encouraged to notice how they are being asked to mature right now. They have an opportunity to acknowledge the consequences of their past decisions, take responsibility to change what they need to change, and release their attachment to outdated definitions of success.

Full Moons: Clarity, Release, and Turning Points
When the Moon is Full, emotions are intensified, situations can reach a point of culmination or resolution, and clarity becomes available. At this time of the month, we have an opportunity to see everything more clearly, or we can no longer pretend we don’t: we are being asked to acknowledge what works, what doesn’t, what needs to change, and what needs to be released.
Every Full Moon brings issues to a turning point. These events facilitate awareness, illuminate patterns, and help us access new perspectives and insights. These are favorable times for sharing with others the results of our efforts, celebrating our progress, making necessary changes, and letting go of something that has run its course.
On a Full Moon, the Sun and the Moon are forming an exact opposition, a 180º angle from our perspective on Earth. Oppositions are aspects of both polarization and awareness that highlight the interplay between two opposing and complementary signs, asking us to balance their energies and expression. These days, the Cancer-Capricorn axis is in the spotlight, and we have an opportunity to reflect on how we harmonize taking care of our emotional needs and inner child with honoring our adult responsibilities out in the world.
The Cancer-Capricorn Axis: our Maturation Journey
The Cancer-Capricorn axis is the family axis, and is connected to our maturation process, our journey from child to adult. It also highlights the relationship between our private and family life and our public life and responsibilities, between the foundations we build within ourselves and the structures and legacy we build out in the world. While Cancer is connected with belonging, nurturance, emotional security, and the archetype of the Mother, Capricorn is associated with long-term commitment, mastery, accountability, authority, and the archetype of the Father.
When a Full Moon activates this polarity, any imbalances between these areas of life, these energies, and the way we parent ourselves are brought into the spotlight. We have an opportunity to become more aware of where we have prioritized being productive over our emotional well-being, or where an over-indulgence with comfort and safety has led us to neglect our commitments or avoid stepping into greater responsibility.
Full Moon in Capricorn: Reparenting Ourselves
In Capricorn, the Moon is traditionally considered to be in detriment, as she is at home in the opposite sign of Cancer. This means that expressing lunar qualities requires a more conscious effort on our part: as a Cardinal Earth sign, Capricorn is naturally focused on building, achieving, and mastering the world of form. The Moon instead asks us to slow down, turn inward, and give space to our emotions, which is not very natural for Capricorn.
Asking for help may be more difficult than usual these days: with the Moon here, we can be more drawn to suppressing our feelings and needs and choose a distorted form of stoicism over the risks of embracing vulnerability and showing emotions. At the same time, the Moon in Capricorn helps us stay grounded in reality, have clear boundaries, and not get lost or stuck in the ebbs and flows of emotion.
As the Moon in Capricorn opposes the Sun in Cancer, we are being offered an invitation to practice reparenting ourselves, becoming our own mother and father, the adult our inner child needs. The invitation for us is to honor both our need for nourishment and care and our desire to build something meaningful in the outer world, knowing that one doesn’t necessarily exclude the other.
Full Moon square Saturn and Neptune
The Sun in Cancer and the Full Moon in Capricorn square both Neptune and Saturn in Aries. Neptune and Saturn’s activation emphasizes the importance of knowing what our responsibility is and what isn’t, discerning between what we feel and what we pick up from the environment or from others, and setting appropriate boundaries to honor and protect our energy.
The square to Saturn, Capricorn’s ruler, intensifies the weight of our obligations, responsibilities, and the pressure we put on ourselves or receive from the environment. Neptune’s involvement instead blurs the line between imagination and reality, adding a general sense of confusion and ambiguity about what is true and what isn’t. This configuration asks us to recognize the responsibilities we may be carrying out of duty, fear, guilt, or past conditioning, as well as tendencies to be excessively indulgent, evasive, or enable other people’s lack of responsibility and maturity by taking on too much ourselves.
The resolution of the current T-square
The Sun, the Moon, Saturn, and Neptune are forming what is technically known as a T-square configuration. T-squares are patterns of friction involving three planets in signs of the same modality, in this case, the Cardinal modality, two opposing each other and squaring a third one. The Cardinal modality is about embracing new beginnings and starting unfamiliar processes. Cardinal T-squares provoke a tension that pushes us to take action, take risks, make things happen, but, at the same time, we feel restricted and find it hard to follow through on what we start.
The only sign that isn’t being activated, in this case, Libra, represents the resolution point of this configuration, the energy we need to embrace to solve the tension. Libra, as the resolution point, encourages us to involve other people in our projects, ask for help, and open up to collaboration and connection. This sign invites us to create conditions of reciprocity and harmony, to learn the difference between true and false peace, and to make sure that what we give and what we receive are in balance.
Mars is conjunct Uranus in Gemini, and they both square the Lunar Nodes
As the Capricorn Full Moon peaks, Mars and Uranus are conjunct in the early degrees of Gemini, both squaring the Nodes of the Moon. Their conjunction will go exact on July 4, but we are already feeling it: these are very unpredictable times, and this alignment is fueling a strong urge to break free from all restrictions and rebel from any limitations that may be present in our lives or within ourselves. In Gemini, this conjunction is having a strong effect on our minds, asking us to release ways of thinking that keep us small, limited, and stuck in places that aren’t authentic for us.
These days, expect the unexpected: clinging too hard to our existing plans, ideas, and beliefs is not going to serve us. At the same time, the Mars-Uranus conjunction asks us to make sure we are being rebels with a cause, avoiding impulsive reactions, or creating chaos and disruption for its own sake. Taking action on the unconventional, unique ideas that arise around this time can lead us to unexpected places.
The square between Mars, Uranus, and the Moon’s Nodes in Virgo and Pisces is reminding us that what happens now is not random, but there are karmic issues at play. We are being shown where we got stuck in our development, and we may recognize the root cause of cycles that keep repeating. This configuration asks us to respond rather than react, and consciously integrate the impulse to assert ourselves, take action on our desires, and break free from past conditioning. This is a time to liberate ourselves from what isn’t meant for us and follow our unique path, the path that intuitively calls us, despite it not being the conventional or rational choice.
Full Moon in Capricorn: Reassessing our Relationship with Structure
The Capricorn Full Moon highlights the need to reassess our relationship with structure, commitment, and vocation: it is an opportunity to notice where we need to mature and be more disciplined with managing our time, energy, and responsibilities. The invitation for us these days is to learn to hold structure without punishing ourselves, to be disciplined without going against our emotional needs, to be consistent and committed to what we value and are responsible for, while still being gentle with ourselves.
Saturn, the ruler of this Full Moon, is forming a harmonious trine to Venus in Leo, which helps diffuse the tension of the T-square and channel the friction we experience creatively, while staying connected to our hearts, our sensuality, and our desire to play and enjoy life.
This event ultimately invites us to clarify our priorities, notice what needs to change in the structure of our lives, and consider whether what we are building and the direction we are moving toward are aligned with our true purpose, and allow us to have needs and emotions. Full Moons always mark a time of completion and closure. In Capricorn, we have an opportunity to reap the rewards of our effort in tangible ways, reassess our ambitions, and let go of definitions of success that were never ours to begin with.
