On February 18, 5:35 PM ET, the Sun leaves Aquarius and enters Pisces: Pisces season 2023 begins. The Sun’s ingress into the last Zodiac sign begins a time of closure, contemplation, and transition. Pisces season invites us to cultivate states of pure presence and awareness and encourages us to channel our life force and creativity into what we are in service to.
This season wraps up the Astrological year and invites us to let go of old identities, definitions, ways of being, and ways of expressing ourselves, to create space for what is True in the present moment to emerge.
The ingress of the Sun in Pisces will be felt more powerfully by those of us who were born with personal planets or angles in Mutable signs, Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces. Those of us more strongly impacted by the start of Pisces season could feel inspired to question our sense of identity and purpose, make changes in how we express ourselves, and experience new realizations about what we are in service to.
Pisces season 2023: Aligning to the Flow
Wherever the Sun transits, our conscious awareness goes. The Sun in Pisces brings the spotlight on our spiritual journey, our path of service, our connection with the collective emotional body, and our ability to go with the flow of life and trust it even when we don’t understand it.
Pisces is a Yin, Mutable, Water sign, the last one of the Zodiac wheel, the one where everything ends and everything begins, the one we always come back to and emerge from. At this stage of growth, the sense of a separate self and everything we built through the previous eleven signs dissolves.

Pisces season 2023: Transits and Lunations
During Pisces season 2023, we are going to experience a New Moon in Pisces, a Full Moon in Virgo, and the ingress of Saturn in Pisces.
The New Moon in Pisces, happening on February 20, is going to be conjunct with Saturn in the late degrees of Aquarius. The Sun and the Moon meet in the early degrees of Pisces, beginning a lunar cycle centered around an exploration of which structures, systems, and ways of being are still True and which ones are not. During the following weeks, we will be invited to let go of what isn’t any longer resonant with who we are becoming, to embrace a deeper level of integrity and alignment.
The Full Moon in Virgo is taking place on March 7, simultaneously with the ingress of Saturn in Pisces. This lunation will bring our attention to the balance of order and chaos in our lives, inviting us to explore how to find more harmony between the part of our psyche that requires flow and improvisation, and the part of our psyche that requires routine and method. The Virgo Full Moon could offer us opportunities to focus on our healing journey, and around this time we could experience clarity about the energetics behind health matters or physical discomforts.
The Sun in Aspect to Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto
The Sun in Pisces is going to form a sextile with Uranus in Taurus on March 6. This aspect will inspire us to openly express our eccentricity and originality and fearlessly experiment with our creativity. The Sun-Uranus sextile is a favorable influence for artistic endeavors and technological discoveries. Many of us could have opportunities to be more public with our self-expression and overcome self-judgment and self-consciousness.
The Sun is going to join Neptune in the sign of the Fish on March 15, inviting us to release our attachment to outdated identities and ways of being, and simply allow ourselves to be without any need of defining ourselves. Around this time, we may feel a general sense of fogginess and lethargy, as well as an increased drive to dwell in our fantasy, make art, and create without expectations. The Sun-Neptune conjunction is a creative and compassionate aspect that will encourage forgiveness and acceptance towards both ourselves and others.
The Sun will form a sextile to Pluto in Capricorn on March 20. This aspect inspires intense inquiry and investigation around the unconscious and our psychology and magnifies our desire for deep soul-searching and exploration of the shadow realms. The Sun-Pluto sextile supports processes of regeneration and empowerment and increases our capacity to see and be light during times of darkness.
Pisces Season 2023: Time of Reflection and Inner Contemplation
The start of Pisces season represents an invitation to slow down, spend more time in reflection and inner contemplation, find space and time to connect with ourselves in stillness and silence, and renovate our commitment to our spiritual practices.
During this season, our sensitivity to the energy of our surroundings will be maximized: our empathy and our ability to read others and feel their feelings will increase. The increased sensitivity invites more responsibility and awareness relative to what dynamics we participate in, what energies we allow into our space, and what choices we make in terms of the information we consume, the environments we spend our time in, and how we show up in our everyday interactions.
Pisces season invites us to honor the way Life wants to move through us and encourages us to let go of our attachment to what has lost meaning and purpose, what isn’t any longer in integrity with our Soul’s path. This time of the year is a moment of culmination and closure: we are closing a chapter and creating space for stillness and awareness in a moment of transition, before something new emerges out of the void.
