On June 4, 07:55 AM —

On June 11, 03:43 AM EST, a Full Moon in Sagittarius illuminates the night. This lunation, happening at 20º38’ of the sign of the Centaur, offers us an invitation to embrace authenticity, commit to honoring the truth of who we are, and move toward uncharted territory with faith.

The Sagittarius Full Moon is particularly relevant for people born with planets or angles in the late degrees of Mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces). The individuals personally impacted by this Full Moon have the opportunity to experience a potent shift in perspective or breakthrough in understanding. They are being asked to let go of their attachment to old narratives and outdated beliefs and commit to following the path that is true for them with devotion and determination.

Full Moon in Sagittarius: Invitation to Follow our True Path

Once a month, the Full Moon lights up the night sky: this is the peak moment of the lunar cycle, a time when many emotions rise to the surface, asking to be felt and honored. After two weeks of growing momentum, the Full Moon brings an opportunity for release and marks the culmination of the processes we have been going through. When the Moon is Full, we have an opportunity to gain awareness of something previously unclear or unconscious, as the light of the Sun illuminates our inner and emotional world.

On a Full Moon, the Sun and the Moon form a 180º angle, technically known as an opposition. Oppositions are aspects of polarization that activate two complementary signs and ask us to find a harmonious way of honoring both energies.

The Moon in Sagittarius is now opposite the Sun in Gemini, bringing our attention to how we think, what we believe, and the lens through which we see the world. The Sagittarius Full Moon is an opportunity to reflect on our relationship with our beliefs and life philosophy and on how we tend to attribute meaning to our experiences. This event brings the spotlight on our search for truth and purpose: the Full Moon in Sagittarius invites us to rise above everyday distractions, cut the noise, and clear the mental clutter, to reconnect with our faith and with a sense of direction that comes from a deep, inner knowing.

On a Quest for Truth

In Sagittarius, the Moon is on an ongoing quest for meaning, truth, and expansion. With the Moon here, our urge to search for answers to the big, existential questions takes center stage. The intuitive function of the mind is emphasized, and the spotlight goes on the need to discover who we are, why we are here, what our purpose is, and why we are the way we are.

The Gemini-Sagittarius polarity is all about learning and this Full Moon in the sign of the Centaur reminds us that sometimes, to keep learning, we need to release our attachment to what we think we already know, to what we feel certain about. While Gemini relates to our close environment, our everyday surroundings, and short-distance travel, Sagittarius is all about distant cultures, foreign places, and unfamiliar lands. This Full Moon is an invitation to expand beyond our comfort zone, move toward uncharted territory, and search for answers in unfamiliar places.

During this time, we have an opportunity to see in what ways we may unconsciously keep ourselves small and stuck, or hold ourselves back from growing in new directions. We are being challenged to notice where we may be excessively attached to our beliefs and assumptions: this Full Moon emphasizes the dangers of identifying with ideologies and clinging to fixed ways of thinking and seeing the world.

Full Moon trine Mars and Chiron

The Full Moon in Sagittarius forms a Grand Fire Trine with Mars in the late degrees of Leo and Chiron in the late degrees of Aries. Both Chiron and Mars are sextile with the Sun in Gemini, which creates what is technically known as a Kite configuration.

This is a very dynamic aspect pattern that, together with the activation of the Fire element, adds more momentum and dynamism to this lunation. While Grand Trines reflect ease, flow, and natural talent, they can also have a lazy or complacent quality because no real effort is required from us to get things moving, there is no real pressure to act, change, or evolve.

The sextiles to the Sun and the resulting Kite pattern help us channel the energy of the Grand Trine intentionally and in a clear direction.

The trine to Chiron invites us to embrace vulnerability and offers us opportunities to transform old wounds into wisdom. Chiron’s activation supports our ability to make peace with our pain and acknowledge the lessons it is meant to teach us.

Meanwhile, Mars in Leo motivates us to take decisive action, make bold decisions, and walk away from what no longer serves us. This energy inspires us to follow the path that calls us with determination and reminds us that growth takes courage and a willingness to face the truth.

Mars is also approaching a square with Uranus in Taurus, which will be exact on June 15. We are already feeling the tension of this square, which brings an increasing restlessness, rebelliousness, and desire for freedom. The Mars-Uranus square will inspire many of us to make radical changes in our lives and break free from stagnation, while reminding us to keep in mind that true freedom lies in our ability to act rather than react.

Jupiter conjunct Mercury in Cancer and square Saturn and Neptune in Aries

Jupiter is the ruler of the Sagittarius Full Moon and his condition gives us more information about the energy of this event. The Lord of Abundance entered Cancer just a couple of days ago and is still placed at 0º of the sign. This is a potent degree, as it represents pure potentiality, new beginnings, a big white canvas right in front of our eyes.

This Full Moon illuminates the sea of possibilities awaiting us while Jupiter in Cancer gently invites us to access the deep well of wisdom and abundance within our hearts. In Cancer, Jupiter encourages us to embrace our vulnerability and commit to radical emotional honesty.

Jupiter is currently conjunct Mercury and they both square both Saturn and Neptune in the early degrees of Aries. This planetary configuration challenges us to follow our visions with discernment and practicality, bridge logic and intuition, and anchor our dreams in the world of form. It can bring up some confusion and insecurities when it comes to learning, communicating, and sharing what we think and know with others.

The Mercury-Jupiter conjunction broadens our minds to new dimensions and expands our ability to see the big picture. This alignment supports our ability to understand the message that our emotions carry and articulate what we feel and think. The square to Saturn can however bring up some self-doubt: it emphasizes the need to cultivate patience and gain mastery over ourselves and our impulses.

Neptune’s activation can inspire new visions and dreams. It asks us to cultivate discernment and be mindful of the trap of idealism and fantasy. These days, we may feel a growing tension between our longing for expansion and the constraints and timing of practical reality: we are learning to have faith in ourselves and in the unfolding of our journey without focusing on the destination or forcing for quick results.

Full Moon in Sagittarius: Uncharted Territory

These days, there is a restlessness in the air, an urge to aim at something greater, bigger, and more expansive than what we are used to. The Full Moon in Sagittarius stimulates our desire for adventure, action, and growth, challenges us to embrace radical authenticity, and invites us to commit to being true to who we are, beyond external expectations or outdated identities.

During this time, we are being asked to connect with something greater than ourselves, with a greater purpose, a greater vision. We are being asked to recognize where we may confine ourselves to narratives that are keeping us caged and have an opportunity to dare write a more meaningful story for our lives.

The Sagittarius Full Moon is an invitation to reclaim our freedom, reclaim our voice, and reclaim our role as leaders of our lives. This event reminds us that meaning is not something we find, it is something we consciously create, something we choose to create and cultivate every day.
