New Moon in Scorpio 2026: the Journey of Becoming
On November 5, 05:37 PM —
On November 9, 2026, 02:01 AM EST, a New Moon at 16º52’ of Scorpio begins a new lunar month, one likely to be filled with meaningful events and unexpected turning points. This event inaugurates a new chapter of our transformation process, of our journey of becoming, reminding us that change often begins in quiet, small, and invisible ways before starting to manifest and ripple outwardly.
The Scorpio New Moon is a particularly relevant one for those of us born with planets or angles around the 16º of Fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius). These people are experiencing more personal and significant new beginnings and are entering a period of accelerated transformation and growth. They have an opportunity to be more intentional about what they are creating, building, and calling in their lives, while simultaneously becoming aware of what they may need to leave behind to make space for the new.

New Moon in Scorpio: Quiet Transformation
New Moons mark the start of the lunar cycle and bring new beginnings and fresh opportunities into our lives. As the Sun and the Moon cross paths in the skies, meeting on the same degree of the same Zodiac sign, we have an opportunity to plant seeds and set intentions for the days and weeks ahead.
The Moon is still invisible from our perspective on Earth, reminding us that, at times, new beginnings are not immediately visible, tangible, or simple to recognize. Often, a new chapter begins to unfold quietly and internally at first, until we suddenly realize we can’t relate to ourselves in the same way or keep living as we have always done.
A New Moon in Scorpio brings this kind of new beginning. Like a seed waiting to sprout, most transformation begins beneath the surface, before there’s anything tangible to show for it. Something starts shifting deep within before we have the language to explain it, before we know exactly what is changing and where it may lead us.
These days, we may start feeling the old ways no longer work, habitual identities are becoming too heavy to carry, and the price we pay for preserving certain attachments is no longer worth it. We know something needs to change, to end, to begin, or to be met differently. However, before knowing exactly what needs to be transformed and how, we may need to create more space to listen, to feel, to get quiet and allow the answer to reveal itself instead of forcing it.
Transformation does not begin with knowing exactly who we are becoming, where we are going, and how to get there. The upcoming lunar cycle will ask us to create the conditions for change to occur, without forcing outcomes or imposing our timing on the process, but rather by setting the stage that allows transformation to unfold organically.
Endings and Beginnings are Two Sides of the Same Coin
In Scorpio, the New Moon reminds us that endings and beginnings are two sides of the same coin. The structure that once held us may no longer be able to support who we are becoming, and its dissolution creates space for us to build something more aligned with where we are now. When something ends, something else is already beginning to take shape in the shadows: a seed has already been planted.
Sometimes, we only recognize the need for a new beginning once we can no longer remain inside the life we know. And yet, every new beginning also contains an ending. To enter a new chapter, we have to leave something behind: a familiar reality, an old identity, or a relationship that once gave us a sense of security. This is part of what makes transformation so difficult. We are not only moving toward something unknown, we are also grieving what we can no longer take with us.
In our journey of becoming, Scorpio teaches us to become more comfortable with transitions, cycles, and the dance of endings and beginnings, when the old is falling away and the new has not yet taken form. Rather than rushing to fill empty space or resisting endings, this New Moon invites us to remain present with the growing pains and the discomfort of transformation and trust the timing of the process even if, rationally, we don’t understand it.
New Moon conjunct retrograde Mercury & square the Lunar Nodes
The Sun and the New Moon in Scorpio are widely conjunct retrograde Mercury and square the Lunar Nodes in Leo and Aquarius. The New Moon’s conjunction with retrograde Mercury brings unresolved past matters into awareness, giving us an opportunity to revisit recent conversations, experiences, and situations that were not fully understood, concluded, or processed.
Retrograde Mercury in Scorpio asks us to look beneath the surface, beneath the obvious, beneath what is immediately visible. Around this time, we may recognize patterns we could not see before, uncover motivations that were previously unconscious, come across new information, and acknowledge truths we have been avoiding or overlooking.
The Sun and Moon’s square to the Lunar Nodes increases the karmic relevance of this event and gives it a stronger meaning within our evolutionary journey. Since July 26, the South Node in Leo and the North Node in Aquarius have been bringing matters of identity, belonging, self-expression, and community participation into the forefront.
The Scorpio New Moon can offer us an opportunity to address and alchemize unprocessed wounds and traumas from our past that keep us stuck in loops and perpetuate repetitive cycles of suffering. This event asks us to go deeper into the emotional root of these patterns, helping us understand where they come from, how they have been protecting us, and what we are meant to learn from them.
New Moon square Mars and Jupiter
Squaring Mars and, more widely, Jupiter, both in Leo, this New Moon evokes intense, urgent emotions while challenging us to express them intentionally rather than impulsively, without allowing the heat of the moment to dictate our behavior. In Leo, Mars and Jupiter fuel a desire to express and assert who we are, go after what we desire confidently, and take bold risks for the sake of our expansion.
However, the squares to the Sun and the Moon can hinder our ability to know when enough is enough, to know when we are overdoing or overextending ourselves and to pause or stop. This is an opportunity to question the beliefs that fuel our actions and pay close attention to the narratives through which we interpret our experiences, to what we take personally, and to what we make something mean about us. This configuration gives us an opportunity to find more conscious and mature ways to express who we are, what we want, what is important to us, and the truth of how we feel in the moment.
New Moon in Scorpio: the Journey of Becoming
This Scorpio New Moon inaugurates a month filled with significant astrological shifts, such as both Mercury and Venus stationing direct, and begins a lunar cycle that will peak on November 24 with a Super Full Moon in Gemini conjunct Uranus. Around the time of the Full Moon, what is starting to unfold beneath the surface these days will become clearer and more visible, and we will be better able to understand the nature of the changes occurring now. Uranus’s activation will introduce an element of surprise, while also allowing us to access an objective perspective of what is going on.
By the time the Super Full Moon in Gemini occurs, Mercury will be direct in Scorpio and Venus will be direct in Libra. As the days go by, it will be increasingly easier to move forward and take action from a clearer understanding of what we value and desire.
The Scorpio New Moon begins a lunar month focused on becoming honest with ourselves about what changes are necessary, and what we can no longer ignore, postpone, tolerate, or sacrifice. This is a time to embrace emotional honesty and acknowledge what we feel, what we need, what we desire, what we fear, and what we already know deep down but have been avoiding.
Scorpio teaches us that what we deny, repress, disown, and everything that we relegate into the unconscious continues to shape our lives, regardless of how strongly we pretend it’s not there. We can resist change for some time, but there comes a point where holding on to something that is meant to go becomes more difficult than allowing transformation to occur. The invitation for us on this New Moon is to consciously participate in the process of change, in this new journey of becoming, and slowly create space for what is ready to emerge.
