Saturn leaves Pisces: The End of a Chapter

Named after the mythological Lord of Time, Saturn in Astrology rules the world of form, the three-dimensional material reality and its boundaries. This planet is associated with responsibility, maturation, and long-term commitment, as well as with places where we feel insecure and inadequate.

Ruling Capricorn and, traditionally, also Aquarius, Saturn teaches us to develop patience, resilience, and personal responsibility. He spends approximately two and a half years in each Zodiac sign, and during this time, he challenges us to mature in our understanding and expression of the sign that is being activated. Saturn’s transits inform us of the direction of our collective maturation process.

During his recent transit through Pisces, we have been asked to mature spiritually and emotionally. Saturn in Pisces highlighted the dangers of living in a perpetual victim-mindset and asked us to take responsibility for our lives by addressing patterns of escapism, avoidance, and spiritual bypassing.

In Pisces, Saturn dissolved those structures that aren’t in alignment with what is True in an absolute, universal sense, and reminded us to dream with our feet well planted on the earth. Saturn’s journey through the last sign of the Zodiac asked us to restructure our relationship to spirituality and challenged us to be of service without sacrificing and abandoning ourselves or our boundaries.

Saturn enters Aries: Learning to Act rather than React

As Saturn leaves Pisces to begin a new journey through the Zodiac wheel, the energy changes drastically. Aries is all about new beginnings: every planet that enters the sign goes through a rebirth process and asks us to explore radically new ways to relate to its energy. The sign of the Ram has to do with the impulse to act without forethought, begin new endeavors, take unfamiliar paths, and assert ourselves and our presence in the world. Aries represents the moment of birth as individual beings after the separation from the oceanic oneness of Pisces.

With Saturn in Aries, we are being asked to learn to take action more intentionally and to master our impulses and our instincts rather than being carried away by them. At the same time, this transit will expose insecurities and fears that block us from taking immediate action when the moment requires it, asserting ourselves confidently, and leaving our comfort zone to take risks and pursue our own path.

If we tend to get carried away with anger, make decisions impulsively, or overreact when triggered, Saturn in Aries asks us to develop more self-control and self-discipline. If, on the contrary, we have trouble expressing our anger, asserting ourselves, and acting on our desires, this transit is asking us to build strength through consistency, develop more courage by facing discomfort, and dare to affirm our existence in the world.

The upcoming Saturn-Neptune conjunction at 0º Aries

In just a few days, on February 20, Saturn and Neptune will perfect their conjunction at 0º45’ of Aries. The two have been traveling very close together for most of 2025, in both Pisces and Aries, but they haven’t formed an exact conjunction yet. The alignment of February 20 begins a new Saturn-Neptune cycle that will last until 2061: it is a powerful time to focus on setting intentions about something new we aspire to create and bring into reality, or to begin renewing one or more areas of our lives. 

With this conjunction happening on the potent 0º of Aries, the first degree of the entire Zodiac wheel, the invitation for us is to focus on planting the seeds of a new vision that requires both faith and disciplined, consistent action. Saturn and Neptune meeting in Aries is an invitation to give form to a dream that has been gestating beneath the surface and take responsibility to do what needs to be done for it to become a reality.

Saturn in Aries: Redefining Leadership & Becoming Leaders of our Lives

During his time in Aries, Saturn will emphasize the need to develop a stronger connection with our inner authority and build more self-confidence by committing to persevering and sustaining our efforts through time despite the inevitable obstacles that life will bring on our path. This transit teaches us that courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the willingness to develop a new relationship with our fear and move forward despite it, one step at a time.

We already had a taste of this combination of energies between May 24, 2025, and September 1, 2025, and themes that emerged during that time are likely to come to the surface again.

Collectively, we are being asked to redefine leadership and individuality, and restructure our relationship with Yang or masculine energy, regardless of our gender. This transit will expose immature, reactive, and inappropriate use of force and domination attempts and support the emergence of leaders who act with integrity and maturity. 

Personally, Saturn in Aries encourages us to step into the role of leaders of our lives, and reminds us that true autonomy and freedom are achieved through commitment, discipline, and courage to stand up for ourselves and our truth. This transit will ask us to become more mature in how we relate to conflict, express anger, pursue what we want, and begin new endeavors, initiating us into a conscious relationship with our instincts and our desires.
