Also referred to as the Great Awakener, Uranus shakes us out of complacency and offers us an opportunity to liberate ourselves from internal and external restrictions. The modern ruler of Aquarius was named after the mythological sky God, the personification of the heavens, associated with Divine Intelligence and the ability to see reality from a higher vantage point. Uranus also strongly resonates with the figure of Prometheus, who stole fire from the Gods and gifted it to humans. Prometheus is connected with the rebellious side of Uranus as well as his concern for the collective good over personal interests.
Discovered in 1871, completely by accident, Uranus revolutionized our understanding of the Solar System, of the Universe, and of our place in it. While Uranus is completing his retrograde in Taurus, we have an opportunity to redefine our relationship with security, change, and uncertainty. Until April, we will be wrapping up this seven-year journey, and what is no longer aligned or sustainable will be revealed.
