On December 14, 11:16 AM ET, we experience a Total Solar Eclipse, taking place at 23°08’ Sagittarius. This celestial event is encouraging us to outgrow our self-imposed limitations and to leap into uncharted territory.

The Sun and the Moon will join on the Lunar South Node, and the Moon, transiting between the Earth and the Sun, will completely cover the Sun for approximately two hours. The New Moon Solar Eclipse, which should never be watched with the naked eye, will only be visible from some regions in South America, especially Chile and Argentina, some parts of South West Africa, and Antarctica.

However, even if it is not possible to see the Eclipse from our location, we are inevitably going to feel its effects. This cosmic alignment contains the seed of a brand new beginning that can only happen after we have consciously let go of those attachments to the past that are holding us back from further evolution.

To celebrate the arrival of this Total Solar Eclipse New Moon, on December 14 at 9:45 PM ET, we are hosting Global Live Meditation on our YouTube channel. We invite you to join us, and invite others to meditate together with us. Tap here to find our scheduled live meditation.

New Moons: New Beginnings and Growth Opportunities

New Moons take place when Sun and Moon are in the same Zodiac sign, conjunct one another to the degree. Every New Moon ushers in an energy of change and transformation, which offers us the opportunity for a fresh start. These cosmic events represent the very beginning of the entire lunar cycle: they open doors for us and offer us new chances to grow.

New Moons are the best time of the month to set intentions for the time ahead, clarify our vision, and renew our commitments. They inaugurate a two weeks period of spontaneous action and instinctual self-discovery, that is meant to happen through a trial and error process.

Solar Eclipses are special and extremely potent New Moons. They take place two or three times a year, when the Sun and the Moon join on a Lunar Node, a point in space situated where the Moon’s orbit aligns with the Ecliptic, the apparent path of the Sun from our perspective on Earth. Since the current alignment between the Sun, the Moon, and the South Node is exact, we are witnessing a Total Solar Eclipse. This cosmic event is going to be more intense than the Penumbral Lunar Eclipse in Gemini we experienced on November 30.

Total Solar Eclipses: The Most Powerful Presages of Change

On Eclipses, the veil between our world and other dimensions becomes thinner. Since the beginning of time, Total Solar Eclipses have been considered the most powerful gateways of change and a presage of impending radical transformation. Our ancestors intensely feared these alignments. The fact that the light of the Sun cannot reach Earth, as it is eclipsed by the Moon, was considered a punishment from the Gods and a negative occurrence.

Today, we know that it is only a temporary phenomenon: nonetheless, the chain of events reflected by these planetary configurations is undoubtedly intense, extremely fast, and often life-changing. Staying open to the unexpected and trusting the unfolding without resisting the unknown are the keys to navigating this energy consciously, rather than being carried away by it.

Total Solar Eclipse in Sagittarius: Exploring Faith and Purpose

New Moons are traditionally considered new beginnings, however, this Solar Eclipse is happening on the South Node of the Moon, the point in space representing our collective karmic past. The South Node symbolizes something we are encouraged to move away from, as we are already familiar with it, yet without forgetting the lessons we have learned. For this reason, we are experiencing an energy of release and culmination: old patterns have reached their breaking point, and we must let them go before we can establish new ones.

As an archetype, Sagittarius has a lot to do with our belief system, with our sense of faith, with the significance we attribute to our existence and the human experience as a whole. This Solar Eclipse may bring up strong sensations of feeling lost, of not knowing where to turn to to find meaning and purpose.

We may feel that the world as we know it is falling apart, that nothing is safe or secure anymore. It is important to honor and acknowledge difficult emotions and to take time to integrate what happens. However, creating a story around them and building an identity around our wounds is not helpful in the long run. Life is not always fair, but we need to remember that we do have the power to raise upon all circumstances, no matter how difficult, and we do have the power to manifest something better.

To help you harness the energy of Total Solar Eclipse New Moon we have created pritnable channeled “A New Sense Of Meaning” journal and guided meditation audio. Total Solar Eclipse in Sagittarius

Sun, Moon, and Mercury conjunct the South Node: Letting Go of Past Stories

On this Solar Eclipse, the Sun, the Moon, and Mercury all join the South Node of the Moon in Sagittarius. The Sun conjunct the South Node is inviting us to let go of our old purpose, our old sense of identity, and our old way of being, while the Moon on her own South Node encourages us to stop holding on to feelings and emotions that aren’t serving us anymore.

The fact that Mercury is involved in this configuration is particularly interesting because Mercury is the planetary ruler of the Gemini North Node, the opposite point in space, symbolizing the evolutionary direction we are collectively invited to take.

The ruler of the North Node conjunct the South Node represents a clear indication that we need to integrate something from the past and release it before we can embrace the future. Mercury symbolizes the way we logically make sense of reality, our mental structure, our communication style. Mercury conjunct the South Node is inviting us to let go of old stories, old ways of thinking, speaking, and perceiving the world, in order to be able to move forward.

Bringing our Visions into Form & Opening up to Others

Jupiter is the planetary ruler of the New Moon Solar Eclipse in Sagittarius. Jupiter’s condition and the alignments it is forming with other planets are giving us important information on how the energy of this celestial event is going to manifest.

The Lord of Luck and Abundance is currently transiting the last degrees of Capricorn and approaching a conjunction with Saturn, which will be exact on the Winter Solstice in the sign of Aquarius. However, the energy of their alignment is already perceivable. Jupiter conjunct Saturn speaks about the need to discover our authentic selves by breaking free from the conditioning we received, and to find out innovative ways to bring our visions and dreams into a concrete and tangible form.

Jupiter is also creating a sextile to Venus in Scorpio. This aspect reminds us of the importance of cultivating close relationships and deep emotional bonds with others. These types of connections are the strongest triggers and catalysts for self-knowledge and spiritual growth, as they promote the expansion of our mental horizons and help us overcome our personal limitations.

The sextile between Jupiter and Venus is an invitation to take the time to connect with people in authentic ways, to slow down and relate from the heart rather than from the mind. Asking the right questions and listening to others’ answers and points of view is what helps us expand our perception of reality. It has the potential to open us up to new directions and perspectives and to give us interesting ideas for the future.

Total Solar Eclipse in Sagittarius: Moving towards Uncharted Territory

This Eclipse may reflect a feeling of existential crisis related to the loss of our old sense of meaning and to the fact that our new life direction is not clear yet. Neptune squaring the Nodal Axis and the Eclipse is increasing the generalized feelings of confusion and brain fog, not only around the nature of reality, of what is really taking place in the world, but also around our own path and soul purpose.

Divine will is at play at all times: especially when we feel we have lost it all and we have nothing else to lose. A seed has been planted: we cannot see it yet, but it is there waiting to grow and blossom. We are learning to be patient, to allow the organic unfolding of events, to trust ourselves and a Higher Order.

This New Moon is reminding us that in every ending is hidden a new beginning, even if it can be hard to see it in the present moment. Ultimately, the Total Solar Eclipse we are experiencing is an invitation to connect with something bigger than ourselves and with a sense of faith that is not rooted in a rational explanation but simply in an intuitive feeling.

Sagittarius always invites us to expand, to explore, to move towards uncharted territory, and to embody a way of living that feels more authentic and attuned with our natural rhythms. This potent cosmic event can bring us plenty of opportunities to find a new sense of meaning, new ways to self-actualize, a better awareness of our Soul’s purpose and evolutionary direction.
